Scott has been Chief Executive of Volunteering New Zealand for three years. Scott is a regular speaker nationally and overseas on volunteering, democracy, and open government. Prior to this role, Scott traversed a variety of professional roles including Speech-Language Therapist, Oil and gas consulting, and education.
Scott is a strong advocate for the benefits volunteering provides older individuals and their communities with in sustaining mental, physical and social health and well-being. Quite simply, there is no exercise better for the heart than reaching down and lifting people up.
Volunteering NZ is the national agency for more effective volunteering, with a national membership including organisations such as Age Concern.
