Dr Mary Simpson is a Senior Lecturer in the Waikato Management School, University of Waikato. Prior to this she worked for 15 years in health social work working primarily with elders and families, Mary's qualitative research centres on health and wellbeing in later life, and since 2010 has partnered in research with the Rauawaawa Kaumātua Charitable Trust. She also enjoys mahi aroha with the Rauawaawa, including with student volunteers for the Kaumātua Olympics and Kaumātua Idol. Mary lives at Kōpū-ārahi with her husband Craig Kennedy. They have three children and two grandchildren.
