Rob had a lengthy and varied career in the NZ Police retiring as Deputy Commissioner, Operations in 2011, before taking up a role as Director of the Chief Executive’s Office with the NZ Fire Service until 2016. During this time he was the executive lead in developing and progressing legislation for the new Fire and Emergency Services (FENZ) which came into effect in April 2017.  In January 2017, Rob was appointed to the inaugural position of Director, CERT NZ. Rob’s presentation will provide attendees with some basic tips to improve their cyber-hygiene and an understanding of the kinds of trends that CERT NZ has seen in the past 12 months.
