Keiko Oda

Clinical Educator
Auckland University of Technology

Keiko Oda is a registered nurse with over seven years’ experience in geriatric nursing. She completed a Masters in Health Science that included research on oral care in hospitals, and recently started a Clinical Educator role in nursing at Auckland University of Technology.  Keiko’s talk will share the idea that oral care is a key intervention to prevent deconditioning among hospitalised older adults. The talk will be successful if the audience can see the potential of oral care to protect the dignity and wellness of care-dependent older adults, and are motivated to promote interprofessional collaborations that improve oral care delivery.
