Mary Breheny

Associate Professor, School of Health Sciences
Massey University

Mary Breheny is a researcher on the Health, Work and Retirement study (HWR).  Mary’s research focuses on the ways that inequalities throughout the lifespan accumulate in later life.  Her research programme includes qualitative work on identity in later life and quantitative analyses of life course predictors of health outcomes in older age. The Health, Work and Retirement life history symposium will examine the ways that circumstances during childhood and mid-life shape wellbeing outcomes for older people.
