Sophia Markwell

Clinical Care Manager
Abel Tasman Village

Sophia Markwell is the Clinical Care Manager of Abel Tasman Village, a not-for-profit aged care facility in Sydney’s South West.  Sophia is passionate about aged care and finding creative ways to bring enjoyment to the lives of residents.  Sophia has been proactive in working with organisations such as Information and Cultural Exchange (ICE) to realise the benefits that artistic and clinical collaboration can have both for the residents and the organisational culture of an aged care facility.  Sophia understands that residents will not always remember her name, but they will always remember how she made them feel.

Together with Victoria Harbutt, an Australian cultural producer and dance teacher, Sophia will discuss her experience in working with ICE to implement projects such as Motel Sisters in Care at Abel Tasman.
