Distinguished Professor Spoonley heads up a major research project on Capturing the Diversity Dividend of Aotearoa and is just beginning another project on societal resilience. He is the editor or author of 27 books, with another on New Zealand’s new demography coming out soon. This book has convinced him that New Zealand authorities and communities do not understand the effects of demographic disruption that is now occurring, including of the nature of ageing. A policy priority is ageing well - but are we really doing enough to achieve this?
