Emily Preston leads the ‘Generations’ project – developing innovative solutions to build the social connectedness of older people across Aotearoa (www.generations.co.nz)
In her presentation, Emily will be sharing insights from the ‘Mahana’ project: exploring the impact of COVID-19 on the relationships between younger and older people, the impact of these relationships on younger and older people’s experiences of COVID-19, and asking what we might learn from this time about building intergenerational social connectedness into the future.
Originally from Northern England, Emily has worked in the ‘for-purpose’ sector in Australia and New Zealand for over a decade. Emily is passionate about ensuring the voices of those impacted by social issues are central to the development of potential solutions. She constantly counts her lucky stars that her job allows her to hear, share and learn from the stories of amazing humans.
