Sara Napier has undertaken research and published in the area of age-friendly communities and has held research assistant positions within the Auckland University of Technology Centre for Active Ageing. As part of the symposium Contribution to Aotearoa becoming age-friendly, Sara will share some preliminary findings from her doctoral research – a case study investigating the age-friendly attributes of a rural community in New Zealand. Sara hopes to provide an empirical knowledge platform to rural communities and local and central government in New Zealand to inform strategies for implementing age-friendly initiatives.
