Positive Ageing Strategy

Age Concern New Zealand agrees with Office for Seniors that a review of the 2001 Positive Ageing Strategy is required.

Whilst population ageing was anticipated in 2001, it is now an emerging reality, with associated opportunities and challenges.

From a 2018 perspective, it is possible to more accurately predict how patterns will change over the next two to three decades, and to apply more up-to-date knowledge in relation to housing, cost of living, social isolation, work, civil defense needs, and other issues that impact on the lives of older people in New Zealand.
